ok guys basically I just recently had my valve cover gaskets replaced on my 98 2.5gt and I kept feeling like I was losing oil and I have a seeping type leak very slow of oil on the left side (looking at engine) of the engine at a gasket where the red electical cords for the spark plugs run over not sure what it is I can take a picture tomorrow but Im not sure if I can just tighten the bolts and it fix it or if it needs to be taken back.

also does anyone have a link to a subaru repair guide for the DIY kind of person thanks....

The Spark plug wires go by it? Sounds like the valve cover gaskets or the intake manifold gaskets.

A head gasket wouldn't weep out of the engine, typically. And you'd have other issues, like overheating.

what would be making it seep oil down the side of my engine?

The sides? valve cover maybe, front crank seal, rear, rear main seal or the plastic baffle plate. Could be something else but that's what I would think of first.

Mine looked like they were seeping as well. It wasn't the valve cover gaskets, but the gaskets that go around the bolts for the valve cover that were no good. If you buy the valve cover gaskets, those come with the set as well. So those should have been replaced along with your gaskets.
