So I finally am getting around to putting my Leg in MRI
I bought the car earlier this year for $750. It had 215k was spewing oil out so fast the puddle was clear, but it fired right up and idled relatively smoothly if you were pouring oil in. I took a chance on her figuring it was the notorious front seals and oil pump reseal.
Towed it 350 miles home, bought a new timing belt, crank and cam seals, oil pump Oring and resealed the front end. She now has 225K on her and runs better than most cars with 100K. Burns little to no oil, no smoke out the exhaust at all. I think she will run forever if she could.
Unfortunately the owner drove the car with a slow leak for 6 months and caked EVERYTHING with oil and dirt. The exterior was neglected severely and the interior was not loved so much either. She is a work in progress but getting a new lease of life.
My current engineering job site is still several months off of getting paved so the exterior is constantly dirty. She will get a full restorative exterior and interior detail when the time comes. Until then I just try and keep the dirt from piling on too think (reason for no full exterior shots).
Anyways, I am a gear head through and through and as such will be trying to compensate for the cars dynamic short comings, but it will be an absolute budget build so to say. Inexpensive upgrades (especially on wear items) will be the focus. Here are the ones I have done so far

She had no radio in her when I bought it, so I took the stock 6 disc out of my WRX and installed it (I need to replace the cupholder and surround trim if anyone has it for really cheap).

no tach was just unacceptable so I scored one on ebay that only had 50K on the cluster (I also have an extra cluster parts minus the tach if someone needs replacement)

My stock WRX wheels with 205/45 Dunlop SP7000s. Made a huge difference in the way the car looked and responded to driver inputs (185/70/14 cheapo tires FTL).
Also in the pic that you cannot see are a set of 50K front WRX struts and springs. The front end pieces do raise the car ever so slightly but the increased spring rates and damper profile does a good just of increasing front grip and steering response. I picked these up for like $25 (I sold mine stockers a long time ago with like 15k on them -> stupid me)
The rear will be upgraded with WRX struts but keep the Legacy wagon springs (much higher springs rates). I will have to score some used mild drop springs for the front so it won't look really stupid.

My most recent edition (and quite the struggle) is the addition of a 20mm WRX sedan rear bar I had sitting in the garage. It required banging the spare wheel well which sucked big time, it still didn't fit, so I made some spacer plates to lower the bar enough to not screw with bar orientation. It works great but I am going to make v2 spacers to address a couple things I don't think about the current setup.
I will update this thread as I go - someday with full after rotary compounding pics and a good detail
I have WRX rear hubs and disc brake assemblies for the rear - but the B.A.B is a major pita so I have to be without the car for a couple days to pull that one off
ENJOY
