The last set of pads I had came with shims installed on both sides, but now I bought a set of Hawk HPS pads for the rears and they only have a shim mounted to one of each pair. Can't find anything to say if they were supposed to go in one way or the other but for being "noise-free" pads they're damned loud. Sounds like metal on metal if I hit the brakes at low speed. I guess I'm going to try to add some more grease to them and see if it stops but does anybody else know if the rears are supposed to have some shims that you'd take off the original pads? And does anybody know if it matters which way you install HPS pads on the back?

My Hawks needed a silver shim that had to be transfered over from the old ones on all 4 wheels.

I guess I need to head back to the dealership, I can't find anything online showing that they're available. I think a previous owner chucked em'.
