I have a 1998 Outback and have heard various things from various suppliers about what clutch to use. I'm looking to replace my clutch with an Exedy OEM, but different suppliers have told me different numbers. I was looking at getting #KSB04, but according to Exedy's site, that is for a 99 - 04. Granted I have the hydralic clutch, but what gives? If I remember right, the Outbacks and Legacy's got the hydralic in 1997. The Exedy site is telling me to get the 15015 clutch for a 1996 - 1998. What number are ya'll running clutch wise for your 1998?

It's not by model year, but by transmission. The 5MTs that were mated to EJ25s got Hydraulic clutches and the ones that went with EJ22s were cable clutch. That's probably the real difference in the number.

In 96 there was no EJ25 with a manual, so no worries with the confusion that was the model year 1996.

BTW- I'm not saying that's necessarily the difference in part number, but that's likely it.
