I bought this car with 150K had the clutch, timing belt, water pump, gaskets this that the other thing basically i gave it to my subaru mechanic and he fixed everything when he gave it back he said i'll have no problems for at least another 100,000 miles or so. Now it's got a some really nice rust spots on the hood a dent here and there the paint is all swirled although i do keep it waxed so it looks shiny. But i'm not sure how much is too much to put into some car with soon over 170k. Some body help & i'll do my best to get some pictures of this thing on here

Im assuming that the gaskets your talking about are the head gaskets.
as long as there is no serious body or frame rust (hoods can be easily replaced from junkyard parts, maybe a quick stop at a body shop).

However the way i see it, paint appearance, or general appearance doesnt really matter as long at the mechanics, and basic structure are sound. I have a 99 brighton with 150k, but i will still only do low budget jobs (WRX springs, and outback RSB), and tune ups.

What it really comes down to is your budget, and if you plan on driving it for a while... any mods will kill the resale.

readers digest: If you can afford it, the car is straight, & your keeping it; might as well make your driving more enjoyable.

Subaru paint in general is not known for it's toughness. It looks great from the factory, but it definitely shows wear sooner than a lot of other cars.

Maybe i should just get it covered in rhino lining so it will be bomb proof like the pentagon

You can have them finish the rhino lining and stuff smooth, like paint, instead of textured like truck beds. :p You can also get it in various (crappy) colors. Do it!
