new springs question

i have a 2000 lgt. i was wondering if 93-01 impreza springs would fit. do you guys know if they would. what is something i have to look out for when installing them. i was thinking about P1s, H&R, swift. so would springs for an impreza work?

Absolutely not. 2000-2004 legacy's have a completely different suspension setup from the rest of the model years.

There are a few options for your car. Look at H&R specifically. I think Tein has some as well.

i called boxer4racing. i was looking at the eibach(spelling), i told him i want a stiff ride one because i autocross and two because i love tight suspension. he told me the H&R is more sporty than the eibach. and the whitelines are more aggressive as well. does anyone here use the H&R, i would like to hear if you like them or not. and how much drop did you get

I like H&R's, but next time around I'm doing coil overs, the H&R's springs weren't stiff enough for my driving style.

How much do you autox? Every weekend?
If you do, you might as well drop in a set of Teins or KSports. Maybe even D2s.

well my first time was 2 weeks ago. but to me it is really addicting. i want to go as much as possible. what are the stiffest springs? white line, swift, H&R, etc? i have a 24mm front sway bar, i want to get a rear.

getting a more closely matched rear is really going to help. The eibachs are actually really nice, considering you can daily drive the car, but when it comes to turns, the car stays nice and level. They are progressive, so the more aggressive you are the more they respond.

That is what I have on my BE Sedan ('02 Legacy).

i just found out what spring rates mean? but now i need help with progressive vs. linear. from reading i like the progressive, but i would love a stiff ride all the time so now leading toward linear. are the H&R linear or progressive. i think eibach is progressive right? what is a really stiff spring rate?

There's a lot to learn, it's ok, it definitely takes a while.

You got your springs mixed up. Progressive gets firmer the harder you push it. Like the regular springs you have right now. Linear is at max stiffness all the time.

I THINK they are linear, I'm not 100% sure, more like 90% :wink:

i found out that the H&Rs are linear and eibach are rogressive. i searched everywhere but i can find the spring rates. does anyone here know a link where it shows the spring rates or do you know off hand. this would make my decision on what springs to get.

I might be able to get Eibachs, but they would be expensive, almost not even worth it.

can you do me a favor and find out what the spring rates are on H&R and eibach? what price can you get both and how long would it take?
