1990 Legacy 5 sp swap into 97 OBW?

Ok while looking at a 96 OBW that had body damage I found a much better 1997 with a bad head gasket. I have a 1991 Legacy AWD 5 speed. I know the motor will be basically a plug and play swap, but what about the auto to 5 speed swap? How hard would it be? I am thinking I may try some Rally Cross with this car, as I have a Miata for my Auto Cross toy and figure I will want 5 speed. I much prefer manual transmission also.

Its the exact opposite.

The Auto to 5 speed is actually simple besides fitting the new pedal assembly and adding the master/slave.

The wiring is not plug-in-play for the engine. Mechanically yes its a drop in and bolt on. But the ecu will not communicate with your dash and accessories. this is where you need to splice wires to make everything work.
