Tribeca Front Swaybar - Compatible w/ BD/BK/BG?

What do you reckon?
According to my local contact (seller) it will NOT fit anything with a turbo x-member, but it will fit an NA car.

Anyone know what the front dia. is on a stock GT? The Tribeca is 25mm.

it will fit almost everything including turbo cross member cars - check Nasioc its been fitted to almost everything. I am going to go the upgrade here myself pretty soon - endlinks are specific

Ah, no. My local guy has an RS-T, with a Legacy turbo x-member, and the Tribeca front sway will NOT fit. This is contrary to the information on NASIOC.

:lol: Nice way to continue the "subaru's are like lego's" saying!! Is it off his tribeca already? You could meet up with him and crawl under the car and see how well it lines up? Good luck though, hope it works out!

i have it on my car. the bar is HUGE. but it is very very very very very close to my borla headers.

That is a monster bar! how much does it change the handling?

well unfortunately because of the bar geometry it only acts like a 23mm bar, the extra length and length of the bends decrease the torsional stiffness of the bar. it should make a good difference for sure going from stock but going from a 22mm aftermarket bar would almost be a waste

A rear sway bar is an absolute must for this bar...I would suggest getting the rear first before buying this if you had to chose between either one.

it will,i was thinkinga about it for my bg since it is the biggest subaru sway bar you can fit on an NA subaru,turbo wont fit,plus its just so cheap,atleast where i live.
a friend from work had ordered one for his 04 impreza wagon...

Just to add some info about bushings for this sway bar:

1) Shave oem bushing

2) Shave oem tribeca bushing

3) energy suspension universal bushing (non-greasable) Part# 9-5129R

--> Energy suspension supplied bushing housing do not fit you must trim/remove the outside ridges of the oem housing


4) Whiteline 24mm (W0404-24) bushings (some minor shaving to achieve perfect fitment)

One more tidbit... As far as I was aware, the sway bar is quite a bit wider than stock, and therefore it mounts to the outside of the endlinks where as the stock swaybars mount to the inside correct?

I believe the turbo vs non-turbo fitment is due to the bends in the middle of the bar correct? Obviously turbo cars have alot more going on there, and their sway bars have a few extra kinks to get out of the exhaust manifold's way.

Yes it mounts on the outside.

Actually its the other way around, the N/A's have more bends in the middle basically to clear the exhaust manifold. The Turbo's don't have manifolds going underneath the swaybar...my whiteline bar is straight in the middle for example. However, I think the problem with the tribeca bar on some models is interference with the UP/xmember since it's orientation is different (above the tierod vs. below).

most turbo guys use group n engine mounts or higher to overcome the clearance issue of the FSB hitting the manifold. Aswell the FSB hitting the tie rods.

There are some heavy hitting GC8 RSti's using this FSB with great success.

Bottom line if you want front grip and cant afford the whiteline bars this is the mod for you.

fastenova (Aaron) on Nasioc has this bar on his BD. He said it helped increase turn in but with that came more understeer. I think He either has a WL rear bar on an OB 18mm rear bar.

yes, it should fit. BE/BH basically shares the front suspension of all other subarus. Rear swaybar, I hear the outback is 18mm but someone here had clearance issues with them on his BH.

WRX rear bars don't fit any legacy. The spare tire well is in the way. Some people have notched the well but with poor results.

IIRC .. Wrx front bars don't fit any N/A subarus. N/A crossmember is different from turbo crossmembers. So the bends in the bar do not fit.

The Tribeca bar fits becuase it has unusual bends that clear both N/A and Turbo.

not really. That's too much front bar for an 18mm rear.

The 18mm rear works alright with the stock 20mm front, but on my BC I liked my 18mm/18mm combo more than when I put on a 20mm front bar. The car was flatter, but didn't have noticeably more grip and pushed. With even sized bars it was pretty neutral and more fun to drive. Putting the 18mm rear bar on certainly helps, and it was about the very first thing I did when I got my BD. Now I have whiteline 22mm adjustables front and rear and things are fantastic. Just running with the rear bar on soft and the front stock bar was great.

have to go aftermarket. 22mm+ The tribeca is effectively a 22mm-23mm bar even though its actualy diameter is around 25mm.

as far as I know, the whiteline BSR19XXZ 22mm adjustable rear bar is the largest available for a Legacy. It's what I have, and would work with the tribeca, or stock front.
