I know that the a/c lines have something in it but i was told i need a machine to get it out. Well what if i cant get that machine or cant afford it. What are my options. I know I can just lay it on the side but these lines are pretty stiff and i dont want anything to bust. Is there any type of bottle i can buy that traps all the stuff in there or what? Thanks -Nick

What kind of thing are you hoping to achieve? If there's condensation buildup, it should evap when the system is on.

disconnect hose from compressor, leave area holding breath, return later and continue disassembly....

LOL  the mechanics said its frowned upon :-( so there not going to tell me to do it. So should i just keep it attached?

Yeah just go to a mechanic and have the system drained. They hook it up to a tank and all the refrigerant goes in there.
Venting it is also possible...but it's like an environmental hazard. You can be a redneck and do it that route too.
