I noticed this guy down the street from me put the Saab 92X front end on his impreza wrx I know that subaru made that car for saab so it should fit then i was on this web site that said they could put like any wrx Or STI dash in pretty much any subaru. so i got thinking could i put an STI front end on my car?? it's a BE and i like the 04-05 model year STI's. does anyone have any idea if that would fit????

I don't think it would swap as well as the dashboard would.

With enough money anything is possible... But,I think the fenders are too short, the hood too narrow, etc... Dash might work though.

Are you sure you didn't just see a Saab 92-X?

You could try to fit the fenders, the hood would need modification and etc etc.

Well i'm pretty sure the saab only comes in a wagon and this was a WRX sedan had the saab hood fenders bumper lights grill ETC....

It kinda helps that the Saab and the WRX are the same chassis, so they share the same pick up points for the fenders, hood, etc.

Honestly no worse than the '08 redesign. This would be even more interesting on a Legacy (preferably a BD or BE chassis). Thanks for the 'chop!

What about 2003 Legacy front on a 97?

Nope, dont' think that would work. I've seen pics of somebody trying to get a 95-99 bumper on a 2000-04 Legacy. It was in the early stages, but still didn't look like it'd ever fit the lines of the car well.

Yea, the dash even takes a lot of modification for the legacy. To do any front end swap would be more trouble than it'd be worth, and expensive to boot.

I wonder how they dealt with the wagon fenders being narrower than the sedan fenders on a wrx? maybe the saab fenders are the wrx width.

I was actually thinking the entire nose. Fenders, headlights bumper and hood.

But, I understand what you meant about the bodylines. But anything is possible, right?

if i was to try any oddball front end swap on a bd/bk id have to go for putting a gc 2.5rs bumper on. the one i saw with it done looked bad ass.

I suppose anything is possible--but it's the unibody of the car that the fenders/bumper beam/hood attatch to that would stop this from happening, not just the lines.

As stated before, with enough cash, anything is possible  I happen to like the front end of the BD chassis legacies just how they are, and regard the BE/BH/BT chassis legacies and outbacks as the ugliest of the bodystyles.

dont let any one tell you no. its totally possible.

FYI right now i am putting a 05 Subaru Legacy Dash in my 79 Honda Civic. the legacy is almost a foot wider than the civic.... and it fits great.

Whenever we do conversions (ITR, Strawberry eyes and the likes) we usually swap out radiator supports and other misc. unseen parts as well.

Too bad I might have to sell my car. If not, and the cash comes up; Oh, It's on!!
They appear to be almost the same length. Therefore, the hood shouldn't be hard to line up. I understand the issue with the re-bar support, but that too can be remedied by careful measurements. I've had to work with more impossible door lines than the difference between these 2.

Heck, If anyone local has the parts or interest and wants to try this out, let me know.
