To top off a very rough night at work yesterday, I went to my car to find a flat.

Ever since I got rid of my ContiExtremeContacts, Ive been missing them.

Im looking at some 225/50R16s right now. Would those fit under my car?

I also have them on my stock wheels. The tire guy said it is a pretty tight fit but it works.

Oh shit I shoulda mentioned Im lowered..

..guess we'll find out Monday..

EDIT: I didnt rub too much with 225/45R17 on 17x8 +48.

Anyone know what the offset of the stock 16x6.5" wheel is?

EDIT: According to my calculations, Im looking at about 6mm more out towards the fender with this setup than my older setup.

Unfortunately..that 6mm means my passenger side front will definitely rub under bumps.

That 6mm also means I have that much more room inside against the strut. Should allow me to get a tad more camber.

They rub a bit at full lock. Havent heard them rub the fender under compression yet.

Do you mean the snowflakes? They're +55mm IIRC.

You can try outback 16"...I think those get +48 offsets.

Also 2.5RS rims, 7" wide will work with 225's with no rubbing.

I wouldn't run that size tire on stock LGT or WRX 16x6.5" wheels on a BD for sure. I had some 225/50-16 snow tires that I mounted on some spare WRX wheels and they had hard clearance issues with the rear strut... even w/ a 5mm spacer. Offset is too high and tire is too wide.

so I put them on my lowered BE, but the BD gets the daily driving :(

seems like inbound (strut clearance) on the BD is worse than my GC Impreza I had.

Silly.

So not sure if I can pull off the wheel/tire combo I want on my BD now. Will at least test fit the rotas from the BE. I have springs to lower the BD too now...

meh, should just spring for coilovers now. I see Zzyzx (http://www.zzyzxmotorsports.com) is offering steel versions of their bits. They have LOTS of inbound clearance. I really like them on my friends RS I auto-x. A bit of overkill for my needs though.
