Currently around 175k miles. Since I bought the car with 125k I've done headgaskets, sunroof, clutch, both front CV axles, and valves. Still loving every second of driving the car!
Next on my list is tint removal, its starting to bubble.

ya i know but the big thing for me is just $$$, i know i'll start with a short shifter, then probably powdercoat my wheels. i'm excited to finally get going with a good car!

Welcome! Another green gt owner.
Mod ideas:
1. Yellow foglight mod
2. Powdercoat your wheels/paint your wheels
3. De-pinstripe (looks like you're already there)
4. Paint the gt skirts and bottom lips of the front/rear bumpers
5. Clear corners
6. Subaru badge mod
7. Restrictor plate delete (to have a functioning hoodscoop, turbo or not)
8. Snorkus delete (never understood what this one was, ask around)
9. De-badging
Most of the above ideas should not cost too much money. However, here come the big spender, dream scenario mods by category:
RIMS
=-=-=
1. Upgrade wheels using other Subaru rims from the same model year (Impreza and Forester models have rims you can use)
2. USDM Impreza WRX rims and STi rims
3. European (UK) Subaru WRX 17" rims
4. JDM Subaru rims
...so many possibilities
SUSPENSION
=-=-=-=-=-=
1. Swap out Impreza RS suspension parts from same model year
2. Upgrade to WRX or STi suspension bits
(Some modifications may be required for either setup)
3. KYB suspension?
4. ...and others...
ENGINE AND DRIVELINE
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
1. Custom intake
2. Cold air intake
3. [Underdrive] pulley
4. Grounding kits
5. Aftermarket turbos
...and then... engine swaps...
1. USDM WRX engine
2. JDM WRX engine
3. USDM STi engine
4. USDM/JDM 6-cylinder H6 swap
...and other miscellaneous parts required to make them work.
Sorry, got carried away.
Oh, can't forget the interior...
1. Door car mod
2. Tweeter speaker install
3. ...and of course, aftermarket stereo kits, navigation, etc...
Guys, did I miss anything? Besides a short throw shifter, wrx/sti seats, and additional gauges?

6. Subaru badge mod
[...]
9. De-badging
What's the Subaru badge mod and why would you de-badge it after you mod it?

De-badging take all emblems off the car, but the one in the grille.
Bade mod - take the subaru emblem off grille, sand the back, paint it to color of your choice, and put it back on.

Also, dont know if these were on the list already:
Intake
SPT Axle Back Exhaust (Can probably still get one for less than $100 shipped)
Lightweight Crank Pulley (bout $100)
JDM Projector Lights (more costly at $200-250)
And yea.. just keep it nice and clean u know!
Feel free to download the factory service manual out of my sig too.. that way you can look how to repair / install stuff!
Nice looking car!

haha. yeah I've already de-badged the back of my legacy and I thought the badge mod was doing something to the Subaru spelled out in the center.

what plays_with_toys said x100
also, i'd hit up some junkards in your area... there are a lot of little upgrades you can normally find in junked cars ie. tweeters to replace the stock door sails, better seats (i pulled some nice seats out of a newer outback to replace the crappy L seats in my old wagon... never did get around to getting the heated part of them working before i sold the car), other subaru wheels, etc.
there are SOME good things to be found on ebay as well. the cheap intakes on there make a nice little difference over the factory intake piping. sometimes you can even score jdm parts for cheap (i picked up a set of jdm non-projector headlights for very little scratch)
removing the intake resonator (snorkus) in the passenger side fenderwell will help too.
modding on a budget is tough... but i will say that you don't want to cheap out on some things (suspension, tires, brakes...)

ya i'll definitely have to check out that sway bar
and thanks for all your advice! Tires were the very first (and only) thing i've done so far and i tried not to go cheap. i got some pirelli pZero nero's. i love them so far!
and i was looking at that SPT exhaust, does anyone know where i could pick one up?
thanks!

there was a thread a few months ago about a guy selling the SPT units for like $95 on ebay. Quite a few people bought some. Do some searching in the "general discussion" and you might come across it.

Welcome to the forums! Always glade to see another PNW'er on here.
The first mod I would do is the Outback rear sway bar. It makes a good deal of difference and is really cheap. Your ride looks nice & clean. If I had your GT I'd also get the side skirts, rear & front bumper lip painted to match.
Enjoy your Leggo!

why did you just do the whole car?
mrpyb
03-22-2010, 02:41 AM
this was cheaper is what it comes down to.
I only asked him to do the drivers side fender, skirts, and a corner of the pass fender that had bug guard rash. he just ended up just doing all this for no extra $$ because he's a nice guy!

how did you mount your fog lights behind the grille?
mrpyb
05-01-2011, 05:07 PM
They are 7" fog lights that I turned upside down. I drilled holes in the frame and mounted the fogs through the frame. very simple.

Only pic I had handy, hope it helps!
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2011/05/Photo00631-1.jpg
the lights are fairly slim, if they were any bigger they wouldn't have fit or would have just pointed towards the sky at a ridiculous angle.

I have 2 Hella 700s that I might see if I can squeeze behind the grille. thanks for the pic!
