i was thinking the other day when i was changing my tranny mount, if i got stiffer motor mounts will i get more power to the ground. i installed my H&R springs and the car really did feel a little faster.(maybe because its so much more stable). what is the stiffest brand out there now?

Cusco, followed by Group N STi

You felt it faster with the stiffer springs because the weight transfer better controlled...giving you better traction from a deadstop.

will the motor mounts make the car feel faster? what are the biggest gains with motor mounts?

Motor mounts will take some of the slack out of the driveline, so response when on/off the throttle will be better. Shifts will also have a more positive feel.

I dunno about faster though, it's more of a feel / durability thing.

be prepared for more vibration though. I haven't driven my car yet, but i know at idle, with my Group N Mounts and Pitch stop, the car definitely vibrates quite a bit more than stock. I still need to put in my Group N tranny mount too, but I'm waiting on that until I can do the short shifter/bushings at the same time.

I'm gonna have to look into some stronger mounts, if i'm gonna have a heavy ass supercharger hanging on one side of my engine block... Don't want it doing too much of a funky dance when I start it up or during driving.

You can get solid engine mounts. lol I know one company who makes them (maybe theres more) and another company who plans on making mounts (not sure if solid or with urethane bushings).

I don't know about solid mounts. Maybe for the transmission... I really needed better mounts on my BE, the rear diff would whack the bottom of my trunk when i drove it hard. Luckily my wagon doesn't have that problem (or a trunk).

I think I'll go with Cusco mounts. And if the engine/supercharger whacks into things too much, I'll get a second for the other side of the engine.
