So about a month ago this happened while I was trying to mount the spring to the strut:

I talked to the rebuild guys (Ramon, very nice guy, if any of you guys deal with him, tell him Ben w/ the Legacy B4 says hi :smt041) at Bilstein and after not finding any part no. that coincides with my shock (they have their own line of strut/shocks for BE's/BH's btw), I decided to just send it in. Well they were able to rebuild and machine a new shock body and now all's well.

The rebuilt cost was $75 for the rebuild + 45 for the machining...around the cost of one regular strut. Overall, I'm glad I got some professionals to help me and they pulled through and then some

The little added extra they put is is that the hex hole for the allen wrench is smaller than the original and isn't as deep, so at least there's less chance of breaking with an impact gun...but how would I know that? :smt017
