transmisson tweakin out!!

im getting a problem with my 01 legacy gt limited. when ever i accelerate my jerks and struggles to get up to speed. when i got home a liquid was leaking from under my car. im thinking it my transmission fluid. can u guys help??!!?!

Is it only when it accelerates? How can you be sure its not the engine misfiring?

It's a very wet day here, and its causing my moms 2000 outback to shudder and jerk when trying to accelerate. The plug wires are probably a bit loose

Transmission fluid stinks like hell. is usually reddish.

Engine oil is black, or semi-clear bronze if new.

Coolant smells sweet.

Jerks and shudders at acceleration may just need a simple replacement of plugs - I had the same problem. Start with the most simple and cheap solutions first.

What huffer said, check the color of the fluid

Transmission fluid = red
coolant = green
oil = black/bronze and is very slick
