I just upgraded to a pro flickr account and thought I would post some shots from restoring my '65 Mustang. The project started in 2005 and it finished up in late 2006 when I installed the interior. It's not really a monster of a car. I was going to trying to stay as stock as possible because everything was in pretty good condition.

It had been sitting up for about 20 years in an old lady's drive-way after her husband passed on. She gave it to my dad's friend and I bought it from him. It's a simple inline-6 with a 3-speed tranny.

Nice project man! You certainly brought its beauty back! Old domestic cars are the only ones i like.. and this ones sick! How much $ you drop into it? Once again.. great job! :cool:

Thanks. It was always something I've wanted to do since I was little but I fell a bit short in the power department than I dreamed but it's fun to just cruise down the road for the ride.

After it's all said and done I think somewhere along $3250. I mean the major stuff like the car it's self was $1000 and the interior was around $700 out of a catalog. Then things started to nickel and dime it's way in like new water pump, alternator, master cylinder rebuild kits, starter, keys, locks, all new electrics, solenoid, distro, batt, relays, lights, primer and more primer, bondo, and a new gas tank, tires and paint...

still need to work on the a/c. I haven't even tried it. I ripped it out to work on the interior and haven't as of yet put it back in or checked the compressor.

I didn't really keep a tab because I spent what I was able to when I was able to instead of going on a spending spree and finding myself in debit. that's why it took almost a year to get from exterior done to interior done, I saved up for the package.

I also didn't keep track because I didn't want my parents to be able to say told you so.

The breaks set up about 5 time over the course of the project because I wouldn't drive it and get it registered inspected and insured until it was mostly done.
