So what are some of the best wheel studs and lug nuts you guys use? just for overall daily driving to autocross..

Wheel studs? I just use the stock ones. They go through about 10-15 wheel changes every season, and that includes both autox and rallyx and whenever I feel like changing rims for the street. ;)

The only time people tend to change all of the studs on a subaru is when they decide to run spacers that are more than 3-5mm thick...then you'll need some extended studs.

I do use some generic aluminum lugnuts (lightweight yo :lol: ) because they have a wider seating surface to contact against the rim.

I dont want it to break when i take off the wheels.. :lol: i need something a bit stronger and last longer than OEM..

If you're breaking studs, its more likely you're over-tightening them than any inherent weakness. All a stud does is create the pressure between the hub face and the face of wheel - the friction created between these two surfaces is what actually holds the weight of the car to the rim.

I used the Ebay Specials. Red Motegi 11-sided lugnuts with the included lug wrench adapter. THe red peels off, but they haven't rusted yet, it just peels to the undercoating of chrome. 25 bucks.

Yes. If you want the numbers, subydude has them on their site.

Don't take this for absolute, I'm pretty sure the thread count is 1x1.25.

stock lugs don't either... that's a nice feature that the 2003 Accord has. Makes it very difficult for the lug nut to freeze on the wheel.

McGard Spline Drive have a rotating type washer jigger, so it shouldn't freeze or chew out your wheels.

Don't get the open ends, they will rust up and seize on you. That base looks like it might turn but I don't really know. I like the security with these but also worried about stripping them, or when someone tries to steal my rims.

Im going to search around and see what i find. My wheels are stock, so i dont think anyone wants to steal them :lol:

I just want security and looks...looks like i cant get both? :lol:

Hello,

I thought I'd bring this old thread back to life as I'm not sure what lug nuts to get for stock 15" Subaru Legacy alloy wheels (the 6 'spoke' design) (http://foto.slovenija.net/photos/Danci/Razno/Subieforum/after-1.jpg). These are old but have been refurbished (straightened, de-scratched, repainted, ...).

I want to get some black (or dark gray) lug nuts, but don't really know what kind of nuts to get (apart from thread pattern M12 x 1.25, right) - Google revealed basically four lug seat types:

- conical/tapered with 60° angle
- conical/tapered with 45° angle (racing wheels)
- ball/radius
- flat

:?: Which of these apply for Subaru stock wheels?

I suppose GroupA lug nuts (http://www.groupa.ca/PR_lugnuts.html) would be perfect, but they don't sell directly nor do they have a distributor in Europe... :(
