you can find the directions online.. i did it to one of my LGT's before... its not too hard. hardest part about it is turning the key about a billion times.. thats it. So you dont have a horn at all.. or what? that will make it harder no doubt..

Is it an alarm.. or just the key fob to lock / unlock the car? Look at the unit under your dash and see what type it is.. if its subaru or not. Do you have the instructions for programming the remote? Also.. you CAN put the lock / unlock shit into silent mode.. so it wont beep when you lock / unlock it.. thats done by holding the 2 buttons down at once till it beeps or something like that.. i did it to mine.

i don't have the fob yet. but i did try the turning thing and it didn't beep or any thing. the guy i bought it from said the alarm horn thing wasn't there but i have no idea what it looks like. but i went to another Subaru place and he said it was oem alarm

It's not going to beep with the turn thing.. and actually.. doing the turn thing to program the remote is a pain in the ass.. i swear i had to turn the key on and off like 1000000 times for it to finally work.
Also, these are the most reliable instructions:
http://www.cars101.com/subaru/keyless.html#code%20alarm
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yours will either be this one (if you have a button under your dash)(mine doesnt, cause is a 99)
1. Open driver's door.
2. Turn ignition key to 'On'
3. Press and *hold programming button* in (see diagram, button under dashboard)
After 15 seconds the the door locks will cycle 3 times. Do not release Programming button
4. Press lock (left) button the remotes to be programmed. The door locks will cycle one time.
5. Exit programming mode by releasing Programming button under dashboard and turning key to off.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Or, it will be like mine.. which is just as easy (i think this may ONLY be for 99):
1. Unlock all doors, foot on brake, all doors closed. Cycle key quickly but carefully on-off appox. 10 times until the car honks one time.
Do not turn the key far enough to start the car, just to the 'on' position so the dashboard lights up.
2. When the horn honks, open and close the driver's door, press any remote button and that's it.
Program another remote? Quickly open and close the driver's door again and push a button on the 2nd remote. That's it.
When you're done, remove the key and the horn should honk 3 times. You're all set.
Sometime it takes more than 10 on-offs to set program mode. Open/close the door, lock/unlock etc, wait a few minutes, then try again.
