Hey guys,
My BE just crossed 90K, and almost immediately, a humming started coming from the front end. I did the wheel bearing "test" by gripping the wheel and shaking back and forth - no movement. Alignment done at 70K, new struts at the same time. I should note, I clipped the right front tire on a jagged edge of pavement a few days ago, but the car still tracks straight and the rim isn't bent.
What could it be? Would I have done any damage to the CV boot? The noise grows louder at lower speeds, isn't affected by turning the wheel, and isn't noticeable at highway speeds.
Car goes in for a delightful $489 90K service on Friday; can't wait to see what else needs reparing. Thanks for the help.
