Hey everyone, my name is branden and Im from CT. I just bought myself a 1999 legacy gt wagon. 121k miles i paid 4800 our the door for it. its MINT. only 2 issues are 1 small clear coat chip and a small tear in driver side door panel. its fully loaded minus leather/heated seats.

I am a major member of hid planet.com and I will be retrofitting HID projectors into the JDM lights, i know of 1 other that used E55 singles, but I will be either using TSX's or TL's i will post a DYI when i do it,. also I will be putting in Hella H3/d2s hid fog projectors into the stock housings.

the care is pretty much mint. and I dont plan on doing a lot besides headlights/stereos/tints/rims. i figured performance will get me into too much trouble.

my questions are:

anything to look out for specifically?

anything bolt on performance wise that will benifit me at all?

what is known to go on these cars?

Light weight crank pulley is probably your best bolt on. Most noticeable difference for the fewest $$$.

If it's a 2.5, watch out for the head gaskets.

Wow you scored that cheap! Headgaskets for sure. I'd check with the dealer to see what paperwork they have for the vehicle and see if it's been done. With that low price I'd check the fluids over the next few weeks, make sure there's no oil/coolant mixing... I don't trust dealerships. Especially ones that sell for what a private seller would.

Other than that, check the CV joints, especially in the front, for any tear in the boots. If there's a tear and it's not making noise you can usually salvage that joint and just replace the boot and grease.

Mufflers are fun on subarus. Such a unique sound. With a wagon, go with a higher quality muffler, or you're going to suffer alot of reverb due to the hatch being over the muffler.

Hey man I'm also from CT and was looking at that wagon too. Automatic and on bargain news right? I'm going to pick up a Hunter green 5spd in the next few days

2 12's in back. they take up wayyy too much room.

so if anyone wants 1 free 12 and a double box. all u have to do is buy or make me a single carpeted 12 box. orion 800 watt subs.

That's a clean looking car. Make sure you get a thread up in the Members' Rides section.

Did you use the Krylon Stained Glass paint on those foglights?
