Hey guys,

The GT wheels I have are the stock '97 ones, and I once had a pebble get into the brakes in my car and make a LOT of noise.

Lately a similar noise has been happening whenever I turn to the right (I say similar noise because I don't think it's the same thing, but it is starting to get annoying and I am contemplating taking off my wheels one at a time to look for anything obvious).

A friend of mine told me to have it looked at. I'm going to be calling my dealer today so I can schedule an appointment.

Any idea what it could be?

How are your pads?

I have the same thing in my left front area. I think mine is either the cv joint starting to go (yes I know it would make a clicking sound) or the wheel bearing which I am leaning more towards.

Last time I got my pads checked they were good.

Hmmm, I talked to a friend of mine about cv joints earlier today. I got an appointment set with my local dealership for a diagnosis this Friday. Hoping to find out what the problem is then.

Took the car to the Subie dealership - they could not find anything wrong (I would have imagined that they would have discovered a problem with the cv joints or pads, rotors, etc., at this point). My aftermarket brake pads were at 8/12ths when they checked them.

Still a little squeaky today (I had the car sit about 4 days while I was away in the Poconos over New Years), so I employed a little bit of hard braking to see if I could get the brakes to quit squeaking. (Brake dust?)

They got a LITTLE quieter after a few panic stops. I'm probably going to have to get serious about cleaning the wheels and figuring out how to keep brake dust down.

It's official (sorry for not updating sooner)... the noise is only an annoyance (nothing was wrong with my brakes).

The noise will go away when I choose to resurface my rotors. Dealer said that I might as well replace the pads at that point.
