Problem with turn signal speed

The car is a '00 LGT.

The problem is the speed of the turn signals are different left to right. Specifically the right side. The left side is 100% fine. Normal speed, and the speed is maintained for as long as the stalk is down. However, when I switch the stalk up to turn the right turn signal on, the signal starts at normal speed, then speeds up to nearly double the speed, then slows down a little, then back up and so forth.

Does this sound like a problem with the bulbs on that side of the car? Or is it an issue with teh turn signal relay? Is there a different relay for left and right?

Yes, check the bulbs on the right side first. Turn signal speed doubles when you have a light burned out or disconnected, and since it varies back and forth I would guess you have a loose connection on one of the bulbs.

right on.... also LED bulbs without resistors in them cause this same problem

^+1 for checking the connections. If you can have a look inside each socket. When I got my BK it came from a guy near Boston who never drove it, and the bulb sockets were in need of some attention. Lots of corosion.

You guys were right, it must have been a loose connection. I pulled out all the bulbs on that side, inspected, and put them back in, and it works fine now. Thanks for your help.
