Rear WRX Strut Tower Bar On A BD!

It was a pain in the ass to do. Took me 5 hours. It's a Cusco rear strut bar custom fit to bolt on a BD. I had to slot holes and cut metal to make it work. I took my time and I'm very happy with the results. I still have to put my back seats on. Very nice and clean install. :wink: Let me know what you guys think?

nice! I thought WRX rears were a direct bolt in to our cars. What kind of slotting and cutting are you talking about?

The tower plates had to be slotted and the bar had to be slotted. It was a bit short. The bolt would not line up. The metal had to be cut on both sides of the body so that the plate arm could come threw with out any problems.

Wagons don't need any modification. direct bolt in. Watch out for tail rotation with that big sway bar you have. ;)

What did you need to do to get it in there?
I'm pretty sure I posted a decent writeup...basically you just have the clearance the holes in the body that the tabs on each of the mounting plates pass through.

I'll grab some more pics seeing as I have the interior out anyway.

Cost. It's far easier and cheaper to get a new-gen WRX bar than it is to source a BD bar. Very few companies bring those into the country because the market is limited. It's virtually only JDM, or Australian-made.

One nice reason to own a BK/BG wagon - WRX wagon bars bolt in without any modifications. :)
