This is more or less a feeler thread for the creation of another thread.

There has been some debate over filters and oil on this board in the past. Using that as insperation ,and the fact i hate getting screwed by buying name brands, I have researched oil and filters to nausem.

If anybody would like me to post my finding, I will.

make sure you have pics too... I was considering doing a comparo between Fram ToughGuard, Subaru OEM and Bosch 3310 filters.

the subaru factory ones are really very good.

Puralator Pure ONE (the higher end ones.. lol) are actually really good too.
Also, Supertech filters from wal-mart are surprisingly really good quality (and are like $2

Just make sure it isnt a paper element in the filter, and its already ahead of all the chepo's.

My biggest concern is the anti-drainback valve...

Big fan of the Purolater PureOne & OEM filters.

I am interested in hearing what AJM has to say though!

I stuck it all in the engine and drivetrain. It's a work in progress though, my plan is to do more research, and add all the numbers to the filters so that buying one is a snap.

Purolators are excellent btw.

So what type of evidence do you have to offer us?
