Audio Deck Malfunction. Possibly Ghosts....

So I'm listening to my radio the other day when it loses the signal and just starts scanning the stations. I thought it was just the radio so I switched to a CD. The song plays for about 30 seconds and then the CD deck rewinds the song. Also when it's doing all of this crazy stuff no matter what button I push the stereo will not respond. I can't even turn it off or manipulate the volume? Has anyone had similar problems or know of a fix?

Are these CD changers known for eating disks? Anyway, I'm really not that concered since all of my disks are copies, but it would be nice to know if I should plan on buying a new CD deck in the near future.
