If its on a saturday and I can find a place to stay for two nights I would consider making it down. I work full time during the week, but might get off early on fridays. Later August would be cool.
Reason

Mid to late August (gives me more time to work on my car) and I am considering a Saturday.

I'm glad to see so many people signed up already and still a couple months to go! Try to clear your calendars now! If anyone from farther out wants to come and needs a place to crash for a night my place is always open, just get in contact with me at some point and I could set you up for a night if need be. Anyone coming from points south thats going to hit I-95 straight over to RI, we should all meet up at the Fairfield Rest Area (Exit 22) and caravan it out there. Anyone this would apply to PM me as well and we'll all make arrangements. Come on New England Chapter, where is everybody?!?!
Reason
05-13-2005, 02:57 AM
Six people isn't too bad at this point. We should have a decent turnout this year. In a few weeks I will scope out some places to eat around the park. We can get lunch BS then hit the park for pics. It's right on the water and there's a lot of great spots to take pics and chill out. I will set a date for Saturday, August 20 (date subject to change). This date is to give an idea around when the meet might take place. The 2nd to 4th Saturday is still in consideration.

05-22-2005, 11:37 PM
CTGT - please come! The more BD GT's there the better...as long as you don't have a 97 automatic one you're more than welcome to come! --ha. I'm trying to think of where bethany is, I'm on the coast between bridgeport and westport...quite a combo.
CTGT and oober -- Let us know what the verdict is so you two can be added to the list! The more the merrier and it'd be fun as hell to hang out. If any of the CT guys want to meet up anywhere along the highway and caravan it over to RI let me know so we can setup meet points (guessing multiple ones will be the easiest) and try to setup times to meet up.

thanks bella -- yeah that comment was just to piss off Reason, and apparently it's mission accomplished! I'm real psyched about this summer, I got a job with the commercial ambulance company that covers my town and the town over, gonna be making some crazy cash this summer between that and the liquor store gig. Tonight started my 5 day orientation, each session 5 hours or so...which we get paid for!!! Long story short if everything works out I'm hoping to have a decent amount invested in the legacy so it should be almost up to par for the meet! I'm afraid if I started a swap beforehand I wouldn't get it done in time and get stuck in CT. We'll see...

Exactly, BD is the chassis code, you'll see it in your VIN#, should look like 4S3BD6...blah blah. BD6 is the USDM 95-99 Legacy sedans, you'll see it in that thread bella posted.
Good, hope to see you all there!!

yea i checked the vin, it is a bd. one other question guys and girls. how do i post pictures of my car?
Wiscon_Mark
05-28-2005, 04:39 PM
You gotta upload the pictures to an upload site like photobucket or cardomain and then you can use the 'Img' script (just above where you type the text in when you post' and give the URL (address) of the picture. to get the url, you right click on the picture, and then click properties and you can copy and paste that address.
I await your pics... :D

06-14-2005, 12:09 AM
Right now it is a one day thing, we'll meet up somewhere along the highway in the morning (around 11 or so) and caravan it out to RI, spend the day hanging out, taking pictures, asking quesitons, showing off mods, etc etc. Last meet we had pizza and ended up driving all over the coast of RI. It was kinda nice, and nice to meet everyone that went. Just a chance for us to get together and hang out in person for a while. Until we get a massive amount of members in the area that want to go -- at least enough to make it a 2-3 day event and get some sponsors or even subaru to come out with a new legacy or whatever -- it will probably just be a one day gathering of us New england legacy enthusiasts. I'm glad to see so many people on the list so far!

As of now we are going to the state park. It's pretty nice there, it is right on the bay and has a lot of places for pics. A lot of people go there and some go to show off there cars or bikes. I'm thinking about doing what we did last year and get some food or do some sort of cook out. I'm trying to rent a beach house for a week of the event, if I can find one open on the week of the 20th I will invite everyone who shows up back to the house. I'll even be nice and let ya stay for the weekend, just buy a 30 rack ;-). It's almost July and crunch time is afoot. Details are being worked out. If you have and thought questions or suggestions send me a PM!

At the Wicked Big Subaru Meet (WBM) on June 11th we had ~ 400 Subarus (mostly Imprezas)... maybe ~25 of which were Legacys or Outback Legacys. While the meet was well organized and fun (inspite of it being insanely hot), I barely knew 15% of the folks there, and only knew (or met) like 1/3rd of the Legacy folks.
I don't think having really large numbers of folks show is a good thing in itself, but having a good turnout of like minded folks can be. I can think of maybe 4-5 Legacy people who MIGHT be interested in this meet who are either not registered here or otherwise unaware of this meet.
Just to warn you I am over fourty years old... Not really sure if i fit in this group or not...

18 or 80, you drive a Legacy and come to show off your car it's all good. Last year we had a guy (Byron) that was over 40 and was a really cool guy. He gave me a few tips on my Honda and showed off his sweet 05 Legacy.

I think what shane meant was that last year we had something around 8 or 9 people sign up and only 4 of us actually showed up, but we still had a great time. I would love to see more people there just to meet more of you and hang out for a little while. If you know of some other people that aren't on this forum yet, invite them over to SLI, have them sign up and they are more than welcome to go! We kindof want to keep this an SLI member only meet, so its an easy solution if you know of other legacy owners that might want to come! Go out and recruit everyone you can! Save them from nasioc and cardomain, bring them to SLI, and they are more than welcome to come!

Alright, although all of you know already, the meet has been pushed back one day, to SUNDAY AUGUST 21st at 1PM EST. This should give you southerners some time to get up here so you don't have to leave at the asscrack of dawn. Anyone looking to caravan it up from southwestern CT via I-95 PM me so we can figure out a time to meet. I think it takes about an hour and a half or 2 hours to get there from my exit off the highway. so figure if we can meet up in CT by 11:00 or so we'll be there right on time. Either way, let me know everyone, and we'll meet at exit 22 in the parking lot of the McDonalds in the rest area.

Well I have my last riding class and test on the 21st. I don't get out till 1pm. We can bump it up an hour or you will have to start with out me. I feel bad about changing the time again. Let me know what you all want to do ASAP.

Well right now the plan is to meet around 11:00 at exit 22 in CT on I-95 (for those that it would be practical to do so) so we could get there by 1, you could always just make a fashionably late entrace.

Everyone in CT and south is meeting up with Ryan (mostly) and coming striahg t up. If anyone in Rhode Island and MA want to meet me somewhere we can. I don't finish my course test till 1pm. I was thinking if it were easy to meet me at CCRI in Lincoln. Is this a problem? If not maybe the Filenes parking lot at Emerald Suare mall.

1pm for meeting up with Shane in RI, 11am for meeting up with me in CT to caravan it to RI.
As far as mapquest goes, type in "Colt state park" in Bristol, RI, it'll tell you that a similar location was found, click get directions, and take a look at the map at the end point, the main entrance to the park is the first entrance off 136 heading down from 195, I figure it'll be easier meeting up around the main entrance (in a parking lot just inside maybe?) and then following Shane to his "super secret picture taking spot". Try to bring 10 bucks or so for food, we'll find somewhere to eat at while we're there unless Shane has a place in mind already. I'll try to bring a cooler with some soda and water as well.
The weather forecast says we may be getting a thunderstorm, but otherwise it's supposed to be sunny and windy with a temp of 83. Let's hope the rain holds out, otherwise were going to be getting good and muddy. Bring a good raincoat, cause I don't think postponing the meet is an option for most of us, so unless it's going to be a hurricane, it's going to be Rain or Shine.
Reason
08-18-2005, 04:31 AM
Rain or shine is right Ryan, it will be on! Ryan is dead on with the directions. I say once you get there, go in and pull off to the side. Then we can go from there.
Ryan you can call me if there are any complications or I will call you to give you my ETA. Jonathan I will PM you and give you my cell number. We can figure out where to meet and I'll see if Gator GT wants to meet there too.
As far as I know it doesn't cost anything to get in, but you don't want to get caught with your pants down. I'm not sure whats down there to eat but we can get something later on after we meet up and snap shots.

It still needs power steering lines, front O2 sensor and exhaust.

General route instructions:
From Interstate Rte.95, take Interstate Rte.195 East, to Exit 7, Rte.114 South, to Hope Street in Bristol.
These instructions conflict somewhat with Ryan's instructions of taking Rte.136 ???
If I am reading google maps correctly the first right off of Hope st to Colt State park is a street called "Asylum Road". (seriously I am not makeing this up). Is this where we sould meet up ?
EDIT: mapquest seems to agree with google.
I dont want to confuse people. Someone with more local knowlege of the area, please set me straight. I am only reading the maps.

Asylum road is correct, that's the main entrance to the park, 114 or via exit 7 or 136 via exit 2 at the Mass line, 136 is a little more direct and less confusing, either way will get you there, coming from 136 you should take a right onto Gooding ave and a left onto 114 and your second left should be Asylum road and the park.
I'll be working on the ambulance on the overnight saturday and if everything works out I'll get out on time at 6:30, so don't feel like you're the only early bird bella, I'll have 8 hours on your by the time you wake up, lol.

Sorry to hear that Jessica. We will get something together real soon. Maybe a nice winter run somewhere.
AFBeefcake, that cool, I wanted to see your SVX in person. It's a nice clean ride.
Like I said who ever gets there first go in the main entrance and pull of to the right of the road. I can't give a spot to meet, because if it's nice out the place should be packed. The worst the weather the less people will be there. Unless Ryan's crew find's a spot and you can call me Ryan and let me know where you guys are.

I can't help but think that there was maybe some sort of a conversion isssue from the old site to the new site that interfered with PMs. At any rate i changed my profile setting to allow folks to email me. (sort of like locking the barn door after the horses have been stolen).
I will sent you a "test" PM back to see if they do in fact work.
I am certanly eager for the "NEXT" meet where ever it may be. I imagine the views from Colt State park must have been really spectacular.

We can always meet up sometime. We plan on getting together for a spirited drive up in the mountains or somewhere with some nice twisties. I'll make an announcement when this comes into play. We also thought about doing some snow driving too. Any big get togethers Ryan or myself will post up a date.
