One and two piece headlights?

This may be a silly question, but i was just looking through the member rides section and notice that some BDs have two piece lights and others with the one piece.

My 1997 has one piece but ive seen other 97s with two pieces.

Did they just stick some two pieces on some and one pieces on others? or depend where they were made? or what? If anyone knows anyways...

Just as Strat said they switched to two-piece headlights in 1998. I have had the one piece, two-piece and now JDM projectors in my BD.

The JDM projectors have the best light output by far, and the cleanest cut-off. Well worth the $200 in my opinion. The one piece lights are the second best, just follow the DIY headlight polish and get some good bulbs and they'll be just fine. The two-piece lights are by far the worst, don't switch to them, unless for some reason you are dying for clear corners.
