Lug Nuts, yeah seriously, I have a problem

As some of you may or may not know, I have a set of Work Meister S2Rs that I will be running on my BH. They arrived yesterday from japan and look immaculate, I am very excited. Only negative to these wheels are the SUPER TINY lug holes. I mean, tiny isn't really explaining it. they come with special lugs from works for the original vehicle they were on. My wheels were purchased second hand, hence they came with a set UpGarage had laying around, unfortunately they are 12x1.5mm, toyota, honda, etc... NOT subaru, but of course not. the only Lugs I've found that are looking like they are gonna fit are the Tuner style lugs:

only problem being, I can't seem to find any that aren't junk. maybe it's vanity, maybe not, but i don't want to run junk lug nuts on my 2k dollar wheels that are attached to my 13k dollar legacy, the math just doesn't add up to me. I've searched far and wide, but can't seem to find any "high quality" versions of this design. I am affraid of stripping out the inside of those on junky versions and then being S.O.L (shit outta luck). Help?

all too big... i contacted works USA... I may have to order a set of the special lugs from them... damn thats gonna be costly.

I already have a set of the Rays Extended from when I owned my nissan, same pitch, so they would work, but they are too big, won't even drop in the hole.

After talking with Aspec and RavSpec, both authorized Works wheel dealers and having them both tell me the same thing, that I needed the special lugs, an order was placed through Works USA... my bank account is a little more empty now.

little more than the price of a regular set of works lugs but cheaper than Kics NeoChro :grin:

For what it's worth, I've run the style you picture on my Legacy for a few years now; the original key is junk, but it's a 12mm hex, so I use a Mac/snapon socket. They do allow for more corrosion with the open end, though.

The STi uses Splinedrives; I have a full set of Rays extended sitting inthe garage that were on the STi when I bought it, and they're honestly junk. Two different keys, ok. Two different socket diameters? Give me a break. They faded to silver fromt he original blue as well.

Splinedrives aren't cheap, and grab an extra key becuase the key is a bit flimsy, but they're still way less than work/rays project kics.

the McGard splinedrives were actually REALLY close to being able to fit, but were about 2mm too wide. The Rays were about 5mm too wide. If I ever have issues with these special works lugs I'll probably take your advice and get the cheapy tuner style and get a good hex key.
