Posted this on NASIOC but since this is a Legacy specific forum, I thought you guys would know this better:
My dad and I were just entering our neighborhood from driving around town when we heard a high pitched noise. The noise goes away when the car is stopped and seems to be coming from the rear two tires. The noise is apparent even at low speeds. Differential problem? Wheel bearing? Rear calipers stuck? Cold weather? It's 13F right now according to the in-car thermometer.
I didn't have this problem yesterday, and it went for a 180 mile stint with no issues. The car has 51k on it.
