So i seafoamed my engine last night.. about 1/3 of a can into the TB and 1/2 into the gas tank. i reconnected everything and on the highway today got a CEL with the code p0301 (cylinder 1 misfire). Could this have been caused by the Seafoam? I had this same CEL about 2 months ago and changed plugs and wires, erased the code and had no problem since. And now it happened again. Anyone have a clue why? Thanks.

Seafoam breaks up a lot of crap in your engine. Because of that, some of it might end up in your combustion chamber, and fouled your plugs... or even more simply, the seamfoam it's self could have fouled your plugs since it esentially makes your car REALLY "rich" persay (it's really fuel rich, but lots of combustibles in your cylinders). I'd say it's you plugs... just throw a new set of NGK's on and call it a day.

good point. i just put new NGKs in like 2 months ago, but i guess all that crap + the seafoam could have fouled them already. i cleared the code n ill see if it comes back. if it does ill change plugs again.

Yeah, you probably fouled the plug. Plugs are so cheap and easy to put in that I used to change mine out every couple of months anyways.

Swapping plugs in a 2.2 is nothing like a 2.5. My 92 SS I could change all 4 plugs in a few minutes. As for my 97 GT..... A lot longer lol. I don't remember how long it took me but I do remember it wasn't fun.

the DOHC doesn't leave you much room to move... 2.5hours was my first time. Not cool. I do have an extended socket now though, that should help.
As for the misfire problem, I concur with the others - the cylinders probably filled up with some gunk from the seafoam purge... I would change out the plugs and see what they look like.
