Springs ?

i want to lower my car alot for the summer...
do you guys know of any lowering springs thad fit the BD ?
i would want them to be alot stiffer than the orginals too.

King Springs Low & Super Low (30mm drop and 50mm drop).
Whiteline Control & Flatout (similar drops)
H&R
Ion Performance (not sure about quality, but some are using them)
Eibach Prokit - discontinued but if you can find are very good quality

If you can find a JDM importer, you might be able to get Tanabe or Syms, but these are typically wound for Japanese roads, which are normally pretty good. They're usually quite low.

Most lowering springs are not going to be a "lot" stiffer than stock, but if your existing suspension is quite worn out, they will appear to be that way.

You should look into replacing all four shocks & top-hats too, basically buying a full set of replacement suspension. That way you can assemble off the car and just bolt it in, get an alignment and away you go. Kinda nice to have winter suspension too.

Ion springs are pretty good and also pretty expensive, but they are more focused on getting you the right spring rate for performance vs. how much drop you want your car to have. Their drops are usually very conservative (probably not even 15mm or so).

you should save up and get a adjustable kit (Coilover)

Probly work out to be the same as getting springs + Shocks + shipping. Unless you can find a set that is already put together.

if you want to lower your SUS, you can get the subframe spacers out and that'll lower you another 25mm already. You'll have to convert to regular Legacy struts though.

Subba is right, at least with the coilovers you can adjust your own height. I sold him a set of Megan coilovers not too long ago.

There are spacers that correct the geometry of the suspension because of the longer struts that the Outbacks (SUS) have. You will probably have to remove these when you lower the car, but you may not.

Right, if you take those out and convert to a standard Legacy suspension (which you'll have to anyway if you want the coilovers...they're made to replace the stock legacy strut body, not outback) you'll already drop about 20-25mm (1" or so). Figure out just how much of a drop you really want and can live with (the two may not be the same number...I found that out eventually after searching and buying parts I won't be using) and then find the suspension that'll suit you.

If you don't want to do all that thinking, go ahead and just buy the coilovers. :confused4:
