Recently I've noticed a clunking noise.. it's like something is loose! I just had my alignment done like last week and they said everything was nice and tight on the front end so I'm ruling out ball joint, tie rods, etc...

Could it be the struts? This wasn't caused by the alignment shop; it was happening before I went there as well.. maybe it's the ball joint?? :-?

If they did an alignment and you have loose part then you just wasted your money cuz you didin't get a proper alignment. what kind of clunking noise? constant? just over large bumps?

I had a clunk once.

It was a broken spring.

I trust this alignment shop as all of the toronto-subaru-club goes there and is extremely reputable. I asked if everything was tight and he said yea, alignment is spot on right now but the clunking noise is over small bumps at low speeds.

Like through a parking lot when I exit onto the road, there's that small separator, you'll hear it then.. you don't hear it at highway speeds.. for some reason I'm really thinking it's my struts

Cars got 200,000km and they're all factory!

Could be blown struts. Check the nut at the top of the strut shaft. I had mine come a few turns loose and one side of my car would clunk over certain bumps.

Err, that's 124,274.238 miles. You're overdue for replacement, and you should probably replace the strut-tops too.

Now is a decent time to upgrade the whole kablosh.

Yep! But dammit, I just spent like $1000 on new snowboard gear

I'll start saving up for some KYB GR2's and some lowering springs and top hats come spring

I have a similar issue, that I just posted about. Mine however does this at all speeds so far...

I have called and priced struts, but the strut top is a seperate part? Is this neccessary to replace at the same time?

could it be sway bar links or bushings?? they would have never check those for your alignment.
