Who has them? Who has had them?

Likes? Dislikes?

Possibly thinking about a set, but I want some feedback on them first.

I have JDM Bilsteins off a GT-B and like them very much. Huge difference over stock. I just have to get some lowering springs for the front due to an odd and unexpaect stance due to a fair drop in the rear and slight lift in the front.

DOn't tell him were you got your Damon, I'm still hoping I can come up with the money in the spring.

Hahaha, don't worry about that, I'm just going to buy new ones if I get them. Coilover are still crossing my mind every now and then, but I think Bilsteins and some H+R's are the way to go.

I was only kidding anyway. At http://www.5mileimports.com has a set of bilstiens with pinks for sale. wish i could get the money for them but doubt I will.

JDM Bilsteins and the ones Bilstein sells new are the exact same part iirc.

Hey guys,

I'm looking to stiffen up my Legacy. Are the Bilsteins considerably stiffer than the KYB GR2s? Since I'm selling my Miata, the Legacy is returning to the autox beast and needs to be competitive.

I believe the Bilsteins are the first item on the to-do list.

What are the springs that 5 Mile Imports sells with the Bilsteins? I have Whitelines right now; what's the difference?

Thanks,
Jeff

The Bilsteins are stiffer, but not harsh. I am running the stock springs that the Bilsteins came with for now, but am looking at some lowering springs. I think the springs on the Bilsteins for sale at Five mile are STi pinks on one set, and stockers on the other (at least I think he has two sets). Throw Kevin an email to find out.

Both sets ( stock spring and pink springs ) are still listed on the 5 Mile site. I'd like to get the stock spring setup if I could come up with the dough. Shouldn't have gotten the 47" TV, yes I shoulda

I have Bilsteins with H&R spring. I also have whiteline antilift kit. it is Friggin sweet for Autox. Not a bad ride for around town. I wouldn't want to take any really long trips though.

Me too. I've gotta get those Bilsteins.

Of course, I just noticed Rallitek offers a front sway bar for the BE - another item to add to the list.

Should I be worried about any unwanted rake/lift from the Bilsteins? I have the Whiteline Control lowering springs currently.

pdawg, the stance on your sedan is absolutely perfect. I think I might have to come up with the cash for the bilsteins after I get my tt wagon running.

I wouldn't worry about it on a sedan. It's the wagons that usually get the butt-sag.

Oh yeah Jlav, are you around Springfield,MA? I won't be needing my IPD 22mm front sway in a few weeks...you can get it for cheap if you want

I am running stock struts and whiteline springs and my struts are about to go soon..so I am in the market for new suspension setup.

How do you guys compare the bilstein and GR2?

I am thinking either to go for the JDM bilstein with the stock springs or GR-2 and re-use my whiteline springs

this is how my car looks like with whiteline springs and stock struts..do you guys think it is too low? I am sure the bilstein will my car looks higher than what I have right now

Bilstein > KYB

Bilsteins + Whitelines will be a GREAT suspension setup.
Bilsteins are also rebuildable, and can be valved to your specifications.

I just ordered new Bilsteins from www.shox.com (http://www.shox.com), and I hope to have them installed in the next few weeks, so I'll let you know.

Expensive setup....not to mention the time that is involved to swap the springs out haha

excluding the labour cost...

GR2 = $300 cdn
Bilsteins = $600 cdn

i dont think those stock bilstein springs will worth any $$

By the way, my whiteline springs have about 100k and some rust on them...the paint on the springs are coming off too..is it fine?

My stock GT springs have 214,000 miles on them. Way more kms than your Whitelines. They are still rocking strong, sitting on some GR2s.

Bilsteins are worth it, IMHO.

Well, if you just want some struts to go with lowering springs, you pretty much have no other choice.

Putting 600+miles on my bilsteins yesterday in the mountains in torrential downpours, at night however...I'd say they're worth very worth it. Nevermind the fact that I can have them rebuilt for about $100 each by Bilstein USA (know this the hard way).
