Kumho Ecsta ASX

im looking to buy a new set of tires for my car. my rear tires are shot, but after reading up and looking at the prices, ive realized replacing the Potenza RE92s is out of the question.

i found these online and read a few scattered reviews.

does anyone have an opinion on these tires and if they are good for all season with a tad better towards better handling rather than winter driving. the virginia snows are better weak, we at most get a few inches at a time.

I have them on my car. I bought them since they were cheap. Dry handing is good no matter the temperature. Wear seems good so far.

They hydroplane just as badly as the RE92's and they are terrible in any amount of snow. I literally slid sideways off the road on a straightaway.

wow that sounds horrible. that's why I don't understand why the re92s catch a bad rep, they handle really well in the snow. if this is the case with the kumhos I may jusy go with the sumitomo htr. or this yokohomo tire the local tire dealer offered.

They are great tires for when its dry, I'm not sure about snow, never driven in the snow with them yet.

If you think the RE92's handle well in the snow then these tires are much better.

However. I am used to having real snow tires. Anything in comparison is crap.

just got the kumho ecsta asx from tirerack. $320 with shipping. ill post a review /pics as soon as i break them in and get a good snow ride. thanks for your help.

so i have had the kumhos on my car for about 2 weeks now. theyre freakin awesome. they handle a hell of a lot better than the RE92s i had on there before. it did take me a lil while to find someone who gave me a decent price on mounting them though. it came out $60 for the whole set. some local mechanic quoted $140 for the set. can you believe that?
