Had brought my car to the shop this morning. o2 sensor- bank 1 sensor 1 was the code. had that and the air-fuel metering changed, still throwing codes with a flashing check engine, and I use 1/4 of a tank going a max of 5 miles on the highway. Has anyone else had this problem?? I am about to order a grounding kit off ebay, what is the best bank for your buck??
any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Charlie

oh yeah I forgot to mention, these codes that are coming up, they are coming up and erasing right before your eyes, really wierd. He said it could be the ECU or a ground problem(hence why I am looking into a grounding kit). what about a 2.5 ECU in a 2.2, has anyone used this, and is it possible to use this??

I know the 2.5 ECU with a 2.2 is possible however that doesn't really sound like a grounding issue...

Why do you say that it won't run rich?

Subarus all run rich from stock anyways.

My cousin just put a 2.2 in his outback, which originally came with the 2.5, because his head gaskets kept blowing. He sourced a 2.2, dropped it right in, started up and ran perfectly from the first turn of the key. I don't believe hes ever had any issues with it running rich.

thanks so much, I got my car back from the shop yesterday the ECU is shot

good thing is I can get one out of a 98 GT for 50 bucks. Now the last question is there any splicing needed or is it just a plug and play situation??

i know someone must have done this before this is the only thing holding me back from getting this ecu..... is it just plug in and go or is there splicing and crimping needed?? :-?

so I decided to stop being lazy and decided to put this 2.5 ecu in.......I noticed its a little more "Throaty", first and second seem to have a little more torque, maybe thats just me because my ecu was shot....oh yeah the best thing is when I took it on the highway, My car finally went faster than 112!!!!! i got it up to 125 but I was a little nervous, seeing as this car never went that fast. So yeah anyone who needs that little bit more I would suggest 2.5 ECU...it was as easy as taking my ecu out and plugging the other one in

CT Staties suck, I never drive to Foxwoods anymore because of them, I'll let someone else drive.
