Rebuilding Bilsteins

Has anyone had Bilstein USA rebuild a set for them?
Any idea of the cost?

I just asked Bilstein New Zealand how much to rebuild a used set - they quoted me US$990!!!

For that price I could buy a set of KYB GR2's, a set of King Springs Low and top hats and still have enough left over for an alignment.

That just seems like a lot to rebuild them. Probably could almost get a whole new set for a price like that. :shock:

That's just the Bilstein strut. Specifically for a BG GTB fitment (JDM spec).
Not the PSS-whatever coilover.

The advantage is that the Bilsteins are fantastic from factory, and they are rebuildable. However this particular outfit in New Zealand can take other shocks and Koni-style put an insert in them to make them into Bilsteins. That costs $400 a strut. So hell no.

pretty sure we have a bilstein USA central warehouse somewhere in the southeast. that price for rebuilding is outrageous. At most it should be 150 a corner out the door.

Their rebuild facility is in California. Great guys to deal with. Call them up first and talk about your particular situation. Base rate is $65/shock for the rebuild; you'll have to pay for any orings and seals that they'll have to replace if it does need replacing...
