Ok, so yesterday I finally got insurance and a trip permit on the legacy gt wagon i bought. First "real" drive and I know there is a rear suspension issue.

The car feels like i am riding on wooden tires. again mostly in the rear, but when i hit a bump, or even most cracks in the road i can feel them, very harsh! I know struts need to be changed when the car "floats" after bumps, but that dosnt happen here. It also seems to get very loose after a good bump, and kind of jumps to the right a bit.

My question is, does this sound like a strut issue? How do I know if my springs are worn out? The rear of the vehicle does not sag.

ideas?

check all your bushings and the topmounts on your struts

What will bad topmounts look like? will there be play in them or something specific I should look for?

Sounds like your springs are way too stiff...but then again I'm a n00b so take taht with a grain of salt. Are they OEM springs?

I really have no idea if they are OEM, just bought the car. I have had the pro kit springs in other cars, and though it was a rough ride, it felt "right" rough. This just feels so wrong when i hit any cracks, potholes, or sewer covers.

it leaves a very loose feeling
