Ok, So I have a misfiring problem, throwing codes 0301-0304. I went for my etest anyway and nearly passed.
They do an idle test and a test at 2500 rpm. The 2500 test I passed with flying colours. However the idle my HC was over. Limit is 200 and I had 209 PPM.
Ideas on what I should change? I am going to try and replace the plugs and wires. I bought a timing light, but now looking in my book, the timing is not adjustable, its a computer thing... so any ideas would help. Im new to the subaru so thanks!

With those codes you are misfiring, new plugs, wires and a coil pack should be in your near future.

Yeah, I bought new plugs tonight, and will test the wires/coil in the morning.
Other than running the car hot before the test, are there any good suggestions for "helping" pass this test?
Im going to have my oil changed, and I replaced the air filter already. If i did a seafoam treatment will that help any? and If i do, should i run the car for a while before the test, would it foul my results at all?

Some auto stores sell this stuff in a bottle you put in your gas tank and guarantees you will pass emission tests. I think its $6-$8 a bottle, it may be worth a shot.

I just changed my plugs, tested the coil and wires.
The coil was a bit high 1.2 ohms and the recommended is 0.6-0.77, the wires were way Under the books recommendations, at around 2600 ohms.
anyway after driving the car with new plugs, it feels MUCH better. before the car would miss after 5500 rpms, now it pulled smooth right through to 6500 no issues. Im going to get an oil change, and try the test again.
ill let you know how it goes.

ok so with the plugs and oil changed, I redid the etest and passed. Not by a lot, but a pass is a pass.
