How do you guys feel about this stuff, other than comments about it just being engine dress up, cause I already know that. I'm the one putting them on.
I figure the hoses under the hood are all pretty damn old and could use replaced. Cant imagine what kind of carbon buildup there is everywhere in the lines, so I figure it couldnt hurt to change them out, and while I'm doing it, why not make it pretty.
Anyway, I was going to pick up a pack of this stuff yesterday but autozone was out of it, so I held off. Well I got to talking to one of the guys there and he said that you should never use silicone hose in your engine bay because it gets too hot, vacuum suction can cause the hoses to swell up and shut, and if it's a daily driver to expect it to turn to pretty much plastic in not a very long time.
Anyway, when I got home from the parts store, I googled the shit out of the stuff, and the only similar discussion I found describing these issues for these hoses seemed like mostly theory.
So I'm asking you guys. How does this stuff perform?
