So, last oil change, maybe 500 milse overdue, I drained out all of the oil remaining in the engine. Which amounted to about 2 qts of oil, maybe a little less.
So, today, I'm driving home from a friend's house, and do a WOT run through second. I glance in my rear view mirror, and there's a big, billowing cloud of black smoke coming out my tail pipe.
Earlier today, I checked the vacuum hoses, and found no oil in my intake, so it's gotta be getting burned.
Luckily, it hasn't smoked quite as bad since, but it's still burning oil. So, question one, anything I can do to help save my rings/ringlands?
And question two, how much does a typical dealership ring/ringland job cost? It sounds like it may be V3/V4 swap time.
