Silver BBS or Gold Gram Light 57s?

I traded my P-WRC1s this winter for a set of silver BBS from an 04 STI. They're far lighter, stronger and less flashy, but kinda bland, to be honest. It's an attractive design, for sure, but it is a stock wheel.

I have the option to sell the silver BBS and get some used, gold Gram Light 57s in 17x7.5". The GLs are about a pound heavier, per wheel, because they're cast. The BBS are lighter because they're forged, my first ever set like that. What do you think?

p.s. if anyone can find me a pic of a BE with silver BBS wheels, I'd appreciate it.

those silver bbs's....I was looking for a set of those when I got my JDM v7's. I Like 'em.

I say keep the BBS's, mainly to stop me from trying to buy/trade with you.

I'm fond of gold on white, but it is a bit more $BLING$. The 57s are a little more heavier, but still pretty light for a cast wheel. I really want to own some wheels made by Rays, but perhaps I can wait.

I'd also have to pony up some more ducats for the difference, which kinda sucks.

The BBS are ~1lb per wheel lighter, forged, and indeed low-key.

The Gram Lights are $800. Gonna have to come to Utah though, cause he's probably not shipping them.

They're for sale on NASIOC in the RMIC Private Classifieds.

Another friend has some Volk CE28ns for sale too. THAT wheel makes both of these look and feel heavy. 14lbs for a 17x7.5? Incredible.

I'm beginning to find out how desirable they really are, now that I've got them and expressed even a little interest in selling them.

The same guy who has the Volk CE28ns also has a set of Gold BBS 5x100 that he'd rather sell. One was cracked, but he's had it professionally repaired, and he might be willing to ship it.

if you can get your hands on the set of Ce28s that is the way to go... I have owned several set of wheels engineered by Rays, both carrying the volk label and not, and I must say I am thoroughly impressed. One particular set of Rays i had were called Daytona Speeds and they were a track wheel for my S chassis. They took an absolute beating and never once thought about cracking...

The Volks are a lot more pennies than the Gram Lights, but for good reason.

I'm also more comfortable with a wheel in which a used replacement is more readily available and for less than a king's ransom.

Rare is nice, but curbs and potholes don't care.

good thing about a lot of the higher end wheels is an entire wheel doesn't need to be replaced if damage is had, whereas a one piece has to be completely replaced. If i'm not mistaken the CE28s are a two piece so only the barrel would have to be replaced in event of bad curbage, where the face wouldn't need to be unless it was damaged. I could be wrong on that though. Don't remember if it's a true two piece or a welded two piece either...
