Removing a SAFC II

I need to know if there will be any harm to my car if I remove my SAFC II. It has been tuned and dynoed. I am getting a lot of CEL's and the AT OIL TEMP light likes to come on at random.

Depends on what mods you have on your car that led you to installing the SAFC to begin with.

The ECU probably "learned around" the SAFC settings, just like on some of the MAP-based RS's. If you don't have any mods other than the usual bolt ons, unhooking the SAFC and resetting the ECU shouldn't cause any problems.

I unhooked it to see what would happen and man was that a bad idea. it sputtered and could barley stay running. Then the CEL comes on and right after that the AT OIL TEMP light starts blinking. It is better to have it hooked up then with out. I think I need to have it reinstalled by some one who knows more about it then my friend.

I disconnected the battery before I installed the SAFC and then tried it. IS there a better way to reset the ECU? What is the proper order of doing it.

There's a few ways that's been suggested, the most popular one seems to be unhook the battery, step on the brake pedal to discharge whatevers left and wait a couple of minutes...Dunno if that's would work on yours.

I meant did you reset the ECU after UNinstalling the SAFC?

the only thing I did was disconnect the battery before i disconnected the SAFC. Once the SAFC was disconnected I reconnected the batt. I will try the break method tomorrow to see if it works.
