Peugoby's '95 Legacy L - SOLD

As some of you may know, I had the Legacy for sale for some time. No one really bit at the dollar I wanted to get back out of the car, so I've decided to keep it. Surprised there absolutely zero interested coming out of the website. I still am hoping to purchase a 3-4 year old Porsche Cayenne (V6) in the next year or two. Simply put, if I could only keep one car, there is no better car that could possibly fit all of my needs from speed to space to comfort to luxury. Here are the proposed plans for the Legacy this Spring:


New front brakes. Hawk HPS 5.0 Pads - Centric 125 Series Cyro Treated rotors & ATE 200 fluid
Install late model year GTB rear bumper
Remove aero guards
Install aftermarket JDM Sheep Dog exhaust
Clean up & install TEIN BG5 specific coilovers
* Possibly purchase a set of 18" Bronze Volk TE-37's here locally. Have them refinished & mounted on 225/40 Michelin Pilot Super Sports
New windshield & minor rust repair around the top of the windshield

Perhaps the lack of interest was the miles but I have some expensive and/or popular guitars and noticed that similar ones are not selling at all on Ebay. Who knows?

Ya, I have so much work into it I didn't want to let it go for pennies on the dollar. That didn't make sense to me to sacrifice all the emotion and efforts put into the build. As for tires, 225 is a little wide for the abysmal amount of power my car makes, but they do fill out a 7.5" wide wheel a little nicer. Also, Michelin doesn't make their Super Sports in anything narrower on an 18 from my research. I'm still totally up in the air about selling the SSR's and pursuing these 18" bronze Volk TE37's.

My fenders are rolled front and rear so shouldn't be an issue, especially on the Tein coilovers.

Well, its never too late my friend. Lots of thought going into the next steps for 2017 with the car. I might get another hatch, and not carry over that aluminum pull bar. I regret that decision.

Other winter updates:
We have driven the car up to the mountain A TON this year! Here we are at Stevens Pass - we got so lucky we literally had the best spot in the house! The Blizzak snow tires are incredible. I have to really overdrive the car in the snow to get it to slide.

Thanks! That was fun to make. I am actually going to make a documentary about the Legacy and 2nd gens this year as sort of a passion project. I have a high end camera & tripod I need to put to use. It is absolutely a passion for me, albeit quite an expensive one!

Some updates to share:
Got my new exhaust installed. It's produced by Prof and is called a Sheepdog! I got it off a GT-B from Japan. It sounds awesome, although a little loud for the puny amount of power my roaring 2.2l makes these days. Deadsilvia helped by polishing and installing it. I'm overall really happy with it, it is definitely quality and for sure very rare.

Received my Tein Cool Style Master BG5 specific coilovers. Sadly, they're blown. I'm sending them down to Tein USA in California to be rebuilt with new seals, new dust boots and new bump stops here soon. I'm excited to get these mounted up, I've always loved how these ride.

I also managed to blow a bunch of money with TireRack on new brakes for the front! I also ordered a 4 piston caliper rebuild kit from the dealership. Details, Centric 125 Cyro treated rotors, Hawk HPS 5.0 pads, ATE 200 amber fluid. I also got some tire tote bags for my off season tires. I can't wait to get the snow tires off the car - but they have been a true blessing this winter. The rock has surprised me a few times in the snow where I would think getting grip would be impossible. My friends were straight up shocked when we last went up to the mountain and the grade the car was able to climb on a snow covered hill without as much of a slip.

Lastly, new valve cover gaskets and a full tune up + oil change all go down next week. It never fails to drain my wallet!

Thanks! I appreciate the kind words. I'm actually getting rid of the SSR's in favor of some BBS RG. Forged & 17" - hoping look really good on the car!

This past weekend I drove the car down to Portland where my friend & master mechanic got some much needed work done on the car


Valve Cover Gaskets - Trying the blue felpro ones this time
Full tune up (PCV valve, fuel filter, air filter, plugs, wires)
oil change
Rebuilt front FHI 4 pot brake calipers
Install Centric 125 Cyro rotors, Hawk HPS Pads, ATE 200 Amber fluid


The new wheels & JDM GT-B late model rear bumper should be on in the next couple of weeks. I'll be sure to post some pictures then.

Also, the car is just dying for a swap. I am getting anxious to do one. My friend has a good EJ22T that I might refresh. Does anyone know if an ESL board would work on a '95 ECU?

BBS RG!!! I think I might like them as much as BBS LM's sadly they don't come in smaller sizes. I'm very excited to see this next set of pictures of the car!!!

I have no idea one way or the other about your ecu question, but I will ask for the sake of someone else, do you have OBD1 or OBD2? IIRC, some 1995s had 1 and others had 2.

It's OBD2. While I've heard rumors that some '95 Impreza & Legacy's were also OBD1, I have yet to ever see one in the flesh personally. I did some more research yesterday & there is no way an ESL board would work on my 2nd gen. It seems like the best route would be to keep my 22e, get some pistons and run GD WRX heads with a VF39/equivalent and wiring harness merge from iWire for tune-ability sake.

These would look fantastic on your friend's MY98 RS! There is a set right now on rs25.com powder coated gold for $1900. Gulp. Hope your issues get resolved. It took the Texas location over 100 days to ship my stuff. Devin is the easiest person to deal with there

I have a friend who just had a very incomplete shipment that was also damaged due to really poor packing. The joys of cheap JDM parts! I'm still debating on rebuilding the blown coilovers they sent me. ,

Finally got the 17" BBS RG's mounted up. Those are Rays locking anodized lug nuts. I also picked up BBS valve stem caps that I will rock at shows/meets/cruises. I have 5mm spacers to throw on there to get them a little more spaced out as well.

I am liking the JDM late model year rear bumper more and more. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade!

If anyone is interested in the wagon, please let me know. Towards the end of the year I will be re-posting it for sale. It's a ways out yet, but we will be going down to one new car that is more family/car seat friendly. Think new Honda Pilot/Toyota Highlander.

I'd be inclined to give someone off the forums a very favorable price to see it go to a good home.

About a month ago I was doing my daily CL hunting. I came across a really sharp looking 1988 BMW 325 sedan in Vancouver, BC. The car ticked a lot of the right boxes for what I was looking for


rust free
crack free dash
preferred color (lachs silver)
late model front and rear valences - '88 being a hybrid year
Super ETA motor perfect for a cheap stroker build
great paint, straight body, clean title & awesome cloth anthracite (heated!) seats


Downside is automatic. Went straight down the rabbit hole and have dived in deep. H&R OE sport springs, Bilstein HDs. E90 drop hats, E46 M3 RSM, E36 M3 FLCAB, new lemforder lollipops & control arms, inner and outer tie rods, plastic bumper conversion, 14" BBS "basketweave" wheels - full tune up & timing belt replacement components. Next is E36 M3 steering rack.

So... anyone want to make a worthy offer on my Legacy?? :)

'88 325. Aways liked those and came close to buying a red coupe. You should do a MR2 thread on here, especially when you get around to the manual swap.:smt045 Your Legacy is amazing so can't understand why it's not sold. Has the world gone mad?

Car is pending sale to my long time mechanics younger brother. My mechanic will still get to look after the car, keeping a close eye on it & I will still get to see it every once in a while.

I got to absolutely ring the car out on some amazing coastal highway & biways the morning after July 4th. I was in Gearhart, OR and drove back up north to Seattle along the 101 and 12. I really got to put the tires/suspension/alignment to good use around some 40mph decreasing radius sweepers. The roads were totally empty at 4:30AM. The car is planted like glue! It was absolutely the best way possible to remember the car, all of the work, commitment, investment and memories all poured into the car. In full transparency, I'm surprised there wasn't any interest for it coming out of this forum for the Legacy at all. The forum seems to be dead, everyone has really migrated over to the 1st/2nd gen FB page. The SL-i FB group might get more action if they allowed classifieds, which is a big miss in my personal opinion.
