Chances are it has more, since 276hp is the 'gentlemans agreement' in Japan

I read in a New Zealand auto magazine about the previous gen s401 legacy breaking the 'japanese gentlemans agreement'...so I'd assume this one does too.

Yeah, I read the agreement is falling apart too. I believe Honda declared the RL to have 300 hp in Japan, shocking the industry.

yes the agreement is pretty much no longer. Various cars have broken that.....already mentioned is the new RL.

It is a nice car.

there's 2 kinds of "Agreements" in Japan ... 276hp/206Kw power limit (now abolished) and the other one is like the Germans, a 180kmh speed limit (which can be electronically cut anyways) ...

as for some of the "goodies" we can get from Japan, as we drive on the RIGHT side of the car :lol: , there's a few Japan only models that we get first crack before they get announced / sold anywhere else ...


-5x 22B Imprezas out of 399 units as official dealer sales (more coming in from used importers now)

-a few of the Gen 3 Blitzen sedans / wagons as dealer sales as well (more with used imports again)

-2x official S401 Legacy sedans out of 399 units were allocated to NZ only and the rest were only sold to the domestic market. one was sold to a valued customer and the other given by Subaru Japan to Possum Bourne as a gift

Notice he said "advertise." Honestly, most Japanese supercars have a fair bit more than this claim.

Subarus? Most probably have more like 300hp.

Evos? Probably around 320hp.

RB Skylines? Probably close to 350hp (with waaaaay more potential that that :twisted: )

But yeah, I'd probably give up my manly parts for a BL/BP Blitzen...
