My 15" wheels need some work done (paint), so I'm considering a little change:

1. Dark wheels with silver edge:

2. Dark wheels:

3. Silver wheels:

4. Color of the car:

5. Color of the car with silver edge:

I like all of those and can't decide... :)

PS: Why can't I add new options to the pole? :(

How about painting them the color of your car?

I don't know... Wouldn't that be a bit ... boring? And too 'orange'?

Maybe a better set of rims would make the difference. Those don't work for that car.

yeah, those teddy bear rims would be bad ass on that car :D

Quit making fun of my rims!

I like that last one now, orange with silver edge.

I'm with Reason on this. I don't think any of them work with the car, and it could very well be the wheels themselves.

I don't know of a wheel that would work with that color paint on the car.

paint them Bronze... that would be amazing on Orange!!! (hey, it looks killer on my silver car!)

Of those choices, a dark bronze, gunmetal, or satin black would be your best bet. The 15's are already small on a BH, the design makes them look even more compact, and putting a polished lip just makes them appear even smaller. I stay away from a polished lip on anything less than an 18" wheel, as it just makes the combination look too small.

Stick with something where the wheel and the tire complement instead of contrast (like gunmetal or black) and you'll be better off as your entire wheel/tire package will look more homogenous. The car is bright orange, so I'd go with something that will at least look mean for the wheels.

Since new, bigger wheels are not an option (both money and usage wise), I'll go with dark, non-shiney wheels.

Your arguments make sense and along with the pole result really helped me decide.

Thanks to all, that participated... :)

Post up some pics when you're done. I like the car color and really hope you get a wheel color that works and compliments the car.

Since no shop in the area seems to have time for me, I have some more time to play around with The Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/):

looks ugly as hell. i would just save your money and go with some rims. talked to my buddy ken at enjukuracing.com and he told me he could get a set of A-tech wepon wheels for 700 plus shipping. they are in gunmetal or bronze. i think the brone ones would look good on your car. if you go to enjukuracing.com look under wrx wheels. it says it only fits +02 wrx, but he told me can get them in 5x100 bolt pattern. i would put a pic on if i knew how. not that comp savy. sorry.[/img]

looks ugly as hell.

Ugly or not - it's what I got. And I'm not spending any more money on a car.

Anyway, this is one of the wheels 'before' (and this one was in 'good' shape compared to the others):

https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2008/05/before1-1.jpg

And this is one of the wheels 'after':

https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2008/05/after2-1.jpg

They look pretty good in person - the photo screws it up somewhat (they don't really have that 'blueish' tint).

Here you go - this is how it looks on the car:

Personally I don't think the wheels look too small, even though they're 15"...

They look much better than before. Well done.
