i picked up a mint sti catback with 300 miles since i was told that they fit. i tried running a search on people who has some in their cars. but no luck. anyways, i just wana make sure everything does fit (besides some hangers) before i start yankin out the stock exhuast. any ideas? i have the full sti cat back with the mid pipe. should it mate just fine? length wise? :neutral:

any info would be greatly appriciated.. thanks in advanced

i believe there 3-4inchs shorter that the legacy catbacks

it "fits"...WisconMark knows all about it. He has one on his car.

It fits once you relocate the hangers. Then you will want to take it off because it sounds like shi..... "won't sound good"

The axleback + custom midpipe sounds rather nice. I should put a clip of mine up...

I have one and it sounds good. I just have stock midpipe and borlas. It's not loud at all, mellow.

Mine is coming off due to having my new Stromung/Cobb axleback.

But this my personal opinion.

i guess my question wasnt quite clear.. i know about the hangers not lining up. i can deal with that. but my question was.. would it fit /bolt right on without modification?

i have both complete catbacks -sti/stock

what would i need to use to make it fit?

sti axleback + stock mid pipe ??

sti axles back +sti mid pipe mates with the stock cat??

or what ever combination to make it a bolt on affair??

i know physically it fits. but would it bold on?

axleback plus stock midpipe wont work unless the rear flange is rotated on the midpipe and the bolt holes a moved futher out. plus the hanger

"bolt on" generally implies no modifications whatsoever.

On my STI axleback I had a custom-midpipe of 2.25" mild stainless steel made up to match my catalytic converter, and to match the STi muffler flange. This way I can use any WRX/STi muffler - only the hangers have to be moved.

Cost was $75 for the axleback, $100 for parts and labor.

yeah..it doesnt fit at all.lol but its on the car. lot of welding involved.
