As subject states...

USDM mirrors - heated and foldable - what year/model?

I'm guessing:

Foldable: 1995-97 Legacy

Heated: 1998-99 Outback

I need a set of mirrors that are foldable, heated AND power.

00-04 Outbacks had those. I remember test driving an H6 sedan with those.

Sorry - not electrically foldable - I know the 95-97 Legacy L mirrors could be folded, and the Outback 98-99 mirrors were heated (and also electrically powered for adjustment).

I just didn't know if any of the 95-97 Outbacks had foldable mirrors.
I know the Outback Limited of 1997 had the heated electric mirrors.

Huffer, I think (but am not positive) that ONLY the 95's had the manual folding mirrors. After '95, I'm pretty sure that Subaru switched to the style mirror that is on all Legacy models. I've seen pics of '96 & '97 L's that had the same "aero" style mirror seen on both your GT's.

Both my '95's had the manual folding style mirrors. 1995 LS & LSi's have the manual folding mirrors painted body color. The JDM power folding mirrors look identical in shape & size to my '95's.

-In my opinion you should get the JDM power folding mirrors. I love folding them when I park in tight spaces, and the heated element is awesome for cold mornings. The pass. mirror has enough adjustment to be useful, but in my personal opinion, the drivers side is hard to make good use of. I always have to look over my shoulder when merging to the left hand lane.

-Hope that was of some help!

not quite sure where but a while ago maybe a year or so i saw a website that sold heated mirror glass but i dont remember which site it was on. and yes 00-04 outback that had winter package have heated mirrors maybe some forsters as the mirrors are identical. By the way its a very nice option i use them all the time in rain or snow and they do keep mirrors dry.

My '03 GT has them. Different body style, but maybe you could make it work?

Wrong base - they won't mount up correctly.

Peugoboy - the issue with the glass is why I don't want JDM mirrors.

PM Andy! He has a DIY on how to do this.

If I understand the writeup, the manual folding mirrors in the U.S. 95-96 cars, the base can be swapped into the JDM mirrors so the angle is correct.
