Ok, just about ready to take a hammer to my inside rear view mirror.
How do you tighten this thing up to keep it from moving so easy?
Set it and go 5 miles down the road and it is tilted down.
I know there has to be a way to tighten it up but can not see it.

Turn the bass down on your radio. That was my problem. I forgot if these could be tighten or not.

Look under the mirror where it pivots. There may be a screw there. I sold my old mirror so I can't check for you.

I looked and the only screw I see is where the mirror arm goes onto the main mirror arm, the one coming from the car.
Don't know if that makes a sandwich or what.

i had this problem with my old BD, there is plastic gasket thingy inside that housing and my craked i tried lots of things nothing helped, there was a time when i drove for like 4 month without that mirror so i took the hole thing off and bought a generic GM window mounted mirror from autozone glued it on and never had a problem again.

Thanks. Does that one screw hold the mirror in place?
If I wanted to take it apart to see if that is what's wrong?
If so, I have something to put in there and it won't move once you get it set.

Yes that screw hold mirror in place, mirror has this swiveling ball that is surrounded by a bout 1/16 inch thick plastic balll shaped gasket that goes into the clamp which is tightend with that one screw. like i said i tried putting rubber gasket in and it didnt work, used hot glue gun to form new plastic around the ball didnt work, asked dealer if they sold new ones that said yes at 140 bucks with the full mirror assembly. so i dont know what you have that you can put there but i wish you luck.

Gotcha. Have you seen the stuff they use in tool drawers to keep the tolls from sliding all over the place?
There ain't nothing will slide on it.
Thinking maybe of cutting a piece and putting in there.

It is a single hex head screw i believe, 3mm maybe? Either that or about a T10 torx.
