Haha I've been driving this for almost two years now, and I'm sad to say it has been in one accident where I got hit in my drivers front wheel well. Everything was fixed really nicely though, so its pretty unimportant.

Nice to see your ride.

Once you're on them, I'd like to know your driving impressions of the MX's. I'm thinking of getting a set.

Got my wheels/tires mounted today, and I really hope it doesn't snow anymore... :-?

The wheels were painted with Duplicolor Gunmetal paint & one coat of clear.

Anyway, pics. Pardon the terrible photography:

Also, does anybody have any reccomendations for % of tint? I'm looking to get tinted but don't want to go too dark. Legal limit is like 27%(?) here in CO.

Thoughts?

Get the legal limit on the windows. Tickets are $$ wasted.

If you can go darker on the rear windows, I'd do that, but not too different because it'll be too much of a contrast on the fronts.

rims are looking good on your car but they are just a bit too small.

I can imagine a dark gunmetal jdm b4 rims will look good on your car ;)

dont know what CO tint laws are but side windows should be the same to look good, rear could be way darker and it will still look good another thing to keep in mind is if you do want to stay legal with tints your stock windows already have like 5% built in from the factory (UV protection) wheels look nice remind me a lot of my car.

pick up a spoiler to complete the car!!

^^^ spoiler bad. Looks good wingless.

As to your tint, because you have a dark interior (leather) a lighter tint will appear darker. I got 15% tint all the way around with 27% on the front windows. Not a huge difference between the two, but I'm also ticket safe now because they clip the tint detector on the front window. I also have a light green interior, causing my 15% to look lighter in bright sunlight.

^^ I'm sorry, no need to brag but thats child's play I'm running on 2 points left in CO, I have at least 6 tickets in the boulder county area all 10+ over the speed limit, but since my degree at CU, and some hoe lucky job choice, i work for the Co Marshalls office and I've been pulled over twice and let off with a warning both times. FYI get a stae job and save your driver's license points.. " Mr. Sociable go with 20% tint thats what I got and havent seen a ticket yet" (03' to be exact)..

You shouldn't brag about what speed you got caught at...you should brag about what speeds you HAVENT been caught at

Looks good Mr.S, how did you do in autox?

Mr. Sociable

I did fine for it being my first ever. I placed 50th out of 70+ novices and 13xth (i think) out of 191 people. That was after indexes were put in of course.

More importantly, I got myself hooked and already made my own fancy magnetic numbers (I'll be running #39 from now on) and my own helmet. I had so much fun.

Pic from the last auto-x, now with a proper camera! :

I'm currently standing 34th out of a billion or two novices locally , which is actually somthing I'm fairly happy with. MAYBE if i attend enough events and get better at driving I could break top 10? I'll have to see how things progress. Proper magnetic numbers are here as well so the ugly tape is going away.

Exhaust may be coming soon if anyone ever decides to respond on my local forum.

Nice, I'm always impressed at how little bodyroll the BE's get during hard cornering, even on stock suspension.

Airgne

what the body roll on a BE with stock sus is nasty and way to much. the stock rear sway bar looks like a coat hangar theyh just threw on there. anyways nice BE and i would love to do autox. gl hf.

In comparison to a BD it doesn't roll as much.

I like those wheels when the arch gap is gone. I am going to be dropping the wagon soon, and repainting both sets of wheels. Gonna go a little nuts. :D

How to you like the Kuhmo Ecstas?

How to you like the Kuhmo Ecstas?

I think they're easily the best value High-Preformance summer tire out there. I got mine for $88/tire shipped, where most comparable tires were well over $100/tire. They're not too loud for everyday driving and are going to last plenty long. And while they're not as grippy as the people running R-comps in my class, I'm usually only a few seconds or so off the most prepared cars in HS and all I have done are the tires.

So, I highly recommend them.
