Yeah and it feels amazing too, I had know my rear struts were blown, but turns out my fronts were bad also...

I was really worried about hte conversion not working though, I had never heard of any one doing MY'06 struts... So I didnt know if they were different, but apparently they work, and the stiffer springs help a lot too.

so the '06 wrx suspension a direct fit?

I had a hybrid of 03, 04, 05 -- wrx, sti, rs, and tien parts. It looks like the parts for this are the same ones i used from the '03 when I did the swap.

Yes, Direct fit. No issues what so ever. Got some 14mm Camber bolts for the rear from AutoZone..

'06 tophats, strut housings/inserts, Tanbe Sustec GF springs..
Its real nice, So with this knowledge I would ASSUME '07 stuff works too...

Sweet, that's good to know. How does it cope when you hit a big pothole?

I have 02-07 WRX Coilovers for my car ready to be put on very soon.

How many inches are those lowering spring you put on there?

kyle86na
03-10-2008, 07:30 PM
they were the exact same size as stock( which I thought was Odd.)

The listed drop with the handling springs is .75-1.5... Mine was more, rif I had the actual lowering springs, I would bottom out.

Huff, the car does much better than it did before the swap, it is much stiffer, but the shocks arent blown anymore, so it is a good ride. Stiff-ish but very good. It is not bone rattling though, I LOVE it

The s-techs would kill some of you geezers, but the tanabes went on the 2005RS that i got my s-techs from and rode stiffly but not jarring.

You'll need to roll/pull...

kyle86na
01-07-2009, 03:21 PM
Will I? Thats fine, there are a couple guys here in KC with rollers. The Wheel gap actually increased with these wheels, but they are quite a bit wider.

The only thing I am concered with is whether or not my motor will turn the wheels; so i am saving up for a swap of somekind for spring time.

In the pic below, I see the inside lip is close to the top of the wheel. If you hit a bump, and compress the suspension, that outside wheel is going to hit the tire.

You might be alright, but for the sake of avoiding shredding tires...

Huff, that is true.. I didnt think of that, It would be an issue simply because the tire is wider. My stock 205/55 is actually inside the fender. I cannot evern get my hand in there due to the WRX suspension being so low. I need to get a spacer ;)

Thanks for the advice!

Finally installed my JDM Foglamps
Finally Installed my replacement non-power radio antenna

Car looks like shit, I have been hard to it over the last year or so.
